D.2.1, was born in London, but raised in the heart of the Bronx by a militant Jamaican mother. In 2002 he returned to the U.K. and quickly immersed himself in the local underground rap scene. While growing a reputation as a grinder and a revolutionary emcee, he perfected his impeccable street flow and created his distinctive transatlantic style.  Over the past eight years D.2.1has come up through the streets of London (and previously New York), while playing all over the UK,  and is now creating a stir as he aspires to be “The Big Thing” to come out of the UK’s music scene. Creating his initial buzz from mix tapes and underground street releases, he is now stepping out into the limelight with some new club anthems. Independently he has moved over 50,000 units, by daily promoting his music on the streets of London, come rain or shine. He has collaborated with some of the best artists in the U.K., as well as having various cameos and a string of music videos, featured on Channel U and MTV.

Off  the back of his superb debut long-player the ‘Pain Album’, D.2.1 has already gained support from some of the UK’s leading DJ’s including DJ 279 on Choice FM, London radio station Fusion and his single ‘That’s Wassup’ has been play-listed on HHBRadio.ComFully Deep Radio and Conspiracy RadioThe Pain Album’ was un-doubtfully one of the best underground releases of 2008.
In 2010 he’s back with some friends: Blackmobb, where he collaborates with various artists including singers Trevino and Sarah Jto bring you pure Anthems. More melodic and dance-floor friendly than his raw solo style, it is still true to its roots of delivering nothing but the best rhymes to the sickest beats. In the track “Lock This Down-London Town” D.2.1 raps about the daily grind of city life, to slick productions by Murray Biggs and D-goody. In “She’s Cool” he’s giving his due respect to women while never loosing track of the thug within, and in “Away” he shows yet again his diversity and ability to flow on everything, as he delivers a dance-floor future classic with sultry vocals by Sarah j and Trevino.
